QUICK FACTS

The National Drink

The National Drink of Brazil is called Caipirinha. It is made from a special Brazilian rum called cachaca. It is mixed with sugar and lime. There are other fruits that could be added. The key to making a good Caipirinha is how it is mixed. The limes have to be pressed to extract the oil from the lime. The right amount of sugar is also critical. Then comes the mixing. Some use a blender and some shake it up. It sounds simple, but it takes practice to get it just right.

Two or three Caipirinha on the beaches of Rio De Janeiro and you are at peace with the world. If  you also have a sweet Brazil woman with you, then you are in heaven! What more could a man ask for?

The National Dance

Samba is the national Brazilian Dance. It has to be the most sensual dance on the planet. Guys, especially those traveling to Brazil for the first time are whipped into a near frenzy when they see Brazilian women dancing the Samba. It is very common on the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema for musicians to come along playing drums and other instruments and the women break into doing the Samba. You get a free show just for being there. If you tip the musicians they will play whatever you want to hear and stay as long as you want. It is easy to start to feel like you are in paradise!
